Summer 2001

Well, here we are! A year has passed since the first Locke Street Festival roared to success and we are looking forward to the Locke Street Business Association delivering the second annual festival on Saturday September 8, 2001.

With this second annual festival we also celebrate the one year anniversary of LockeStreet.com which will celebrate its birthday the day of the festival.

Of course, just as there wouldn't be a festival if the people didn't show up, there wouldn't be a LockeStreet.com if you hadn't subscribed to the newsletter and visited the site. This month alone we've had over 800 visits and over the past year more than 11,000 page views. Thanks for your encouragement and support and don't forget to let the merchants know you saw them advertised on LockeStreet.com.

But more about the Street Festival...

This year's festival will build on last years success with more of what made the first festival so great. Plans call for two Kid Zones, two Charity BBQs and two Bavarian Gardens. Plus more family entertainment and a street dance from 7-11 PM.

Here are the details:

Saturday September 8th, 2001

The street will be closed from Herkimer to Hunter from 9 AM to 11 PM.

Kid's Entertainment from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Street Dance from 7-11 PM.

For more details visit the news section on LockeStreet.com.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Craig Hermanson,
LockeStreet.com Webmaster

Locke Street History Bytes

Great news for history and trivia buffs: Bill Manson, coauthor of "Up and Down Locke Street" has contributed a very interesting article on how Locke Street may have been given its name. Thanks Bill for your contribution to LockeStreet.com. I'm sure we all look forward to further installments of History Bytes.
