Street Festival "A Wonder"
11 September 2000: Wow! What a Party!! The city estimates
more than 5000 people enjoyed themselves on Locke Street during
the festival. Coverage in the Hamilton Spectator investigated the
Renaissance on Locke South. In a sense, that's exactly what the
street festival was celebrating -- our success as a community. Old
news to many, but a great reason to have fun none the less.
Without a doubt the first ever Locke Fest was a smashing success!
But it didn't just happen -- it was the result of a lot of hard
work on the part of the Locke Street South merchants. Thank you
to the cheerful and hardworking organizers and volunteers. Special
thanks to Tammy Savickis from Rhythm Robs who made it all happen.
